Oil Filter And Oil Filter Base

Usage:

Remove And Install Oil Filter And Oil Filter Base


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


1. Use tool (A) and remove the oil filter.

2. Remove the bolts that hold clip (5) and tube assembly (3) to the engine. Remove the gasket and tube assembly. Remove the O-ring seal from tube assembly (3) if necessary.

3. Remove the bolts that hold tube assembly (4) to the engine. Remove tube assembly (4) and the gasket. Remove the O-ring seal from tube assembly (4) if necessary.

4. Remove four bolts (2) and oil filter base (1).

5. Remove the two O-ring seals from the top of the oil filter base if necessary.

NOTE: Coat all of the seals with clean engine oil. Install in reverse order. Follow the instruction procedure, on the oil filter, for installation of the oil filter seal and the oil filter.

Disassemble And Assemble Oil Filter Base

Start By:

a. remove oil filter base

1. Remove O-ring seals (1). Remove bolts (2), covers (3) and gaskets (6).

NOTE: Plunger (4) is for the cooler bypass. Plunger (7) is for the oil filter bypass.

2. Remove springs (5), plunger (4), and plunger (7).

NOTE: Inspect and replace seals as required. Assemble in reverse order.

End By:

a. install oil filter base
