Boom - Remove and Install

Usage:

583R 2XS

Removal Procedure

  1. Lower the boom onto wood blocks that are sufficient enough to hold the boom in a horizontal position.

  1. Remove bolts (1), retainer (2), and pin (3) in order to remove the load block. The approximate weight of the load block is 152 kg (335 lb). Replace the pin in the boom. Draw in the hook load line and fasten the load block to the machine for shipping.

  1. Remove bolts (4), retainer (5) and pin (6) in order to remove the sheave block for the boom. The approximate weight of the sheave block is 79 kg (174 lb). Replace the pin in the boom. Draw in the line for the boom and fasten the sheave block to the machine for shipping.

  1. Connect a lifting cable to the boom. Remove the bolts (7), retainers (8) and pins (9) on both sides of the support in order to remove the boom from the machine. Replace the pins in the supports. The approximate weight of the boom is 1024 kg (2257 lb).

Installation Procedure

Note: The line for the boom must be released in order to install the sheave for the boom. The line for the load must be released in order to install the sheave for the load.

  1. Remove bolts (1), retainers (2), and pins (3) from the supports. Use an appropriate lifting device in order to install the boom to the supports. The approximate weight of the boom is 1024 kg (2257 lb).

  1. Install the bolts (1), retainers (2), and pins (3) to the support.

  1. Raise the boom to the horizontal position and support using suitable wood blocks.

  1. Remove bolts (4), retainer (5), and pin (6) from the boom.

  1. Use an appropriate lifting device in order to lift the sheave block to the boom. The approximate weight of the sheave block is 79 kg (174 lb). Use bolts (4), retainer (5), and pin (6) in order to install the sheave block to the boom.

  1. Use an appropriate lifting device to lift the sheave block for the hook load line to the boom. The approximate weight of the sheave block for the hook load line is 152 kg (335 lb). Use pin (7), retainer (8), and bolts (9) in order to install the sheave block for the hook load line to the boom.
