Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Place a suitable lifting device (A) under the piston motor.

- Install the piston motor to the hydrostatic drive. Carefully lift the piston motor up to the original place. The weight of the piston motor is 60 kg (132 lb).
- Install four bolts (9) .
- Connect hydraulic hose on top of the piston motor (8) .

- Connect three electrical connectors (7), (6) and (5) .
- Connect hydraulic hoses (4) and (3) .

- Install hydraulic line (2) and (1) .
- Refill the hydraulic tank with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SENR6868, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" for the correct capacity.
End By: Install the drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
