3145, 3150 & 3160 ELECTRIC SET ENGINES Caterpillar

1. Remove the flywheel housing retaining bolts (1).

2. Remove the flywheel housing (2).

FLYWHEEL HOUSING
1. Bolts (ten). 2. Flywheel housing.

Install Flywheel Housing

1. Clean gasket surface and install a new gasket.

2. Install the flywheel housing. Install retaining bolts. The two lower bolts use sheet metal locks. The others use lock-washers. Tighten bolts and bend the two locks.

NOTE: Trim the flywheel housing gasket flush with the pan face of cylinder block. Gaskets not cut square and flush with oil pan face will leak.
