PROBLEM

This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
For glass breakage due to manufacturing variations of the door and cab, replace the glass with the appropriate zip-in window door kit in each cab door for the Affected Product. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS4389, "Installation of Zip-In Window Door Kits on Certain M-Series and M-Series 2 Motor Graders", for the installation procedure. Once the door is installed after installing the Zip In Window Assembly in the door or doors, a check of the door seal compression is recommended. A 10mm door seal compression is recommended at the striker and both hinges when the door is closed. If the seal compression is not correct and with the door in the open position, loosen (Do Not Remove) the bolts at the hinges. Gently close the door and engage the secondary latch. Push the door at the hinges and tighten the hinge bolts to 55+/- 10 Nm (41 +/- 7 lb ft) with a 16mm socket. Open the door and loosen the bolt on the striker with a 5/16 inch Allen Wrench and 18mm wrench. Adjust the striker to obtain the 10mm compression of the door seal at the striker and tighten the bolt of the striker with the noted tools. Repeat process until an approximate 10mm compression of the door seal is achieved at the hinges and striker. More information on how to adjust the doors for proper fit can be found in Special Instruction, REHS4220, "Improved Door Seal and Wiper Motor Covers". For additional info with the door adjustment, including examples, refer the Rework Procedure. |
