Support and Mounting (CEM) - Remove and Install

Make a temporary Mark on all components on the support assembly and all bolts, in order to aide alignment during installation.

  1. Remove nuts (1) and brackets (2)

  2. Remove the Clean Emissions Module (CEM). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Emissions Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

  3. If equipped, remove spacers (3) from studs (4).

  4. Remove bolts (5) and position the breather assembly (10) away from the CEM bracket assembly. Remove brackets (6).

  5. Remove bolts (7) and bolts (9) from bracket (8). Remove bracket (8) from the cylinder block and flywheel housing.

  1. Using temporary Marks, position bracket (8) onto the engine and flywheel housing. Install bolts (7) to bracket (6). Tighten the bolts finger tight.

  2. Install bolts (9) and tighten the bolts finger tight.

  3. Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 29 N·m (256 lb in).

  4. Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 29 N·m (256 lb in).

  5. Position brackets (6) onto bracket (8). Position breather assembly (10) onto bracket (6).

  6. Install bolts (5). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 26 N·m (230 lb in).

  7. If equipped, install spacers (3) to studs (4).

  8. Install the Clean Emissions Module (CEM). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Emissions Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

  9. Install brackets (2) to studs (4).

  10. Install nuts (1) in Position (X) to studs (4). Tighten the nuts until there is a 3 mm (0.11811 inch) gap between the brackets. Refer to Illustration 4.

  11. Install the remaining nuts (1) to studs (4). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 15 N·m (133 lb in).
