New Cylinder Head Has Larger Mounting Holes For The Lifting Brackets

Usage:

1100 Series And 3208 Truck Engines

Description of Change: A new cylinder head assembly with larger mounting holes for the lifting bracket is being installed on all 3208 Truck Engines. This new cylinder head assembly is also being installed on some remanufactured 1100 Series and 3208 Truck Engines. The former cylinder head assembly has 3/8"-16 mounting holes for the lifting bracket. The new cylinder head assembly has 1/2"-13 mounting holes for the lifting bracket. See the illustration for the location of the larger holes.

Adaptable As: The new 4W4031 Cylinder Head Assembly replaces the former 2W9767 Cylinder Head Assembly which is canceled.

When a new cylinder head assembly replaces a former cylinder head assembly, it may be necessary to rework the mounting holes in the lifting bracket to accept the larger 1/2"-13 mounting bolts.

In applications where the mounting holes for the lifting bracket are used to mount other parts, the clearance holes in those parts must be increased to accept the larger 1/2"-13 mounting bolts.
