Transfer Gear Oil Level - Check

Check the oil level of the transfer case under the following conditions:
- The transfer gear and case oil is warmed to operating temperature.
- Run the engine at "LOW" idle.
- The transfer gear is in NEUTRAL.
- The vehicle is on level ground.
- Remove the plug (1) from the oil fill reservoir. The oil level should be to the level of the plug.
- If oil level is below the level of the plug (1), proceed to fill the oil to the correct level.
- Replace the plug (1) into the case.
