Fuel Priming Pump - Remove and Install

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

- Turn the fuel supply to the “OFF” position.

Illustration 1 g02430236 - Remove bolts (1). Remove fuel priming pump assembly (2) from fuel filter base (3).
- Remove gasket (4) from the fuel priming pump assembly and the fuel filter base.

- Position gasket (4) on fuel filter base (3).
- Position fuel priming pump assembly (2) on the fuel filter base and install bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of
13 ± 3 N·m (115 ± 27 lb in) . - Turn the fuel supply to the “ON” position.
- Remove the air from the system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel System - Prime".
