Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the Undercarriage Cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Undercarriage Cylinder (Adjustable Gauge) - Remove and Install".
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This action helps to prevent fluid loss, and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the removal procedure, thoroughly clean the exterior components. This action will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Remove pin (1). Reposition bracket (2).
Note: Install suitable cribbing under the carbody of the side that the Undercarriage Frame is being removed.

- Remove cover (3) .

- Disconnect hoses (4) .

- Attach a suitable lifting device to undercarriage frame (5). The weight of undercarriage frame (5) is approximately 73440 kg (161907 lb). Remove undercarriage frame (5) .

Installation Procedure
- Install undercarriage frame (5) in the reverse order as the removal.
