This procedure covers the following diagnostic codes:
- 253-2 Personality Module erratic, intermittent, or incorrect
Background Information
253-2
The flash file in the ECM is from the wrong engine family. The engine will not start.
Test Step 1. Correct the Condition
Determine the diagnostic code that is active.
Expected Result:
A 253-2 diagnostic code is active.
Results:
- A 253-2 code is active -
Repair: Obtain the engine serial number. Use SIS Web to determine the latest available flash file for the engine. Verify that the latest available flash file is loaded into the ECM.
