Installation Information
Note: Brackets (Antenna) that are specific for the machine may be available for the application. Check the list of parts for the machine.
Note: The 301-0589 Antenna (WHIP) is NOT interchangeable with the previous model of the Antenna Assembly.
Note: Apply 185-3996 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of the 301-0589 Antenna (WHIP) prior to installation. Make sure that the threads are clean prior to applying the 185-3996 Thread Lock Compound. Additionally, make sure that the base is free from debris.
Note: The Bracket (Antenna) can also be used with the preceding model of the Antenna Assembly.
The base of the Antenna Assembly for Product Link serves as the GPS antenna. The 301-0589 Antenna (WHIP) on the Antenna Assembly is used for communication with the Low Earth Orbitting (LEO) Satellites through the Very High Frequency (VHF) band.
Make sure that you have a clear view of the sky for the location for mounting the Antenna Assembly. The base of the Antenna Assembly should have a clear view in all directions (360 degrees). In most cases, the cab roof usually provides an optimal view of the sky with minimal blockages. The Antenna Assembly should be mounted so that the antenna is always pointed in the vertical position.
