An additional feature of the announced 163-7212 Electronic Software Group can be utilized while using Electronic Technician (ET 2.3) to dynamometer test the 3508B (2GR) Engines in these wheel loaders. Currently the engine will derate 25 percent due to no communication with the transmission control.
After initializing communications with ET, go the DIAGNOSTICS tool bar. Select DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS and then select OVERRIDE PARAMETERS. Highlight AXLE PROTECTION DERATE OVERRIDE and use the CHANGE bar to move the NORMAL to DISABLED. This will override the derate while IN THIS SCREEN during the dynamometer test. The parameter can be returned to NORMAL by selecting DISABLE OVERRIDE or by simply changing to some other screen within ET. This feature prohibits the ability to accidentally leave the protection disabled.
NOTE: The option to select ON/OFF for Cold Cylinder Cutout was not corrected with ET 2.3 and should be available with the next ET update.
