If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing swing spool can be defective on certain 307E Mini Hydraulic Excavators. If the existing swing spool fails, it can cause no swing or continuous slow swing implement movement. |

a. Park machine on level ground with the implements lowered. Refer RENR9744, Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release". b. Turn off the engine and battery isolator switch. Refer Image1.1.1 |

c. Unbolt the hydraulic top cover and cap using a 16mm box socket or wrench. c. Attach a 311-1362 Vacuum Cap onto the hydraulic tank opening. d. Attach an air supply hose onto the assembly. e. Apply 276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi). This will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system. Refer Image1.2.1. |

1. Remove two swing spool spring end cap screws with an M5 Allen drive. 2. Ensure the Allen bolt 144-8073 Washers and the 6V-5586 O-Ring Seal are properly kept safe for later assembly. Refer Image1.3.1. |

3. Slide the swing spool halfway out from the spool bore. Note: Do NOT remove the spool from the bore. 4. Install the spool holder D onto the spool. Use a grip clamp in order to clamp the spool holder. Refer Image1.4.1. |

5. Use a 6mm Allen drive to unbolt the spool end, section E. 6. Loosen to remove the completed spool spring, section E. 7. Slide out the remaining spool section F from the valve block. Refer Image1.5.1. |

8. Loosen and remove the new swing spool spring end section E using the spool holder, grip clamp, and a 6mm Allen drive. Refer Image1.6.1. 9. Slide in the new swing spool section F into the valve block and assemble. Tighten the new spring end section E to a specified torque of 20 +/- 2 N.m) completely. 10. Assemble the swing spool end cap O-ring and the screws. Tighten the two screws with an M5 Allen drive to a specified torque of 10 +/- 1 N.m. End of swing spool rework. |
