Maximum permissible clearance between worn bearing and bearing surface (journal) ... .010 in.(0.254 mm)
(2) Torque for stud ... 10 ± 3 lb. ft.(1.38 ± 0.41 mkg)
(3) End clearance of camshaft ... .006 to .012 in.(0.15 to 0.30 mm)
Maximum permissible end clearance ... .020 in.(0.51 mm)
Seals between cover and housing to be installed with 1 in. (25.4 mm) lap.
(4) Distance to install studs ... *.97 in.(24.6 mm)
Put 8H5137 Thread sealant on threads.
(5) Diameter of bearing surface (journal) for the exhaust camshaft ... 1.747 ± .0005 in.(44.374 ± 0.013 mm)
Bore in bearing ... 1.7505 ± .0005 in.(44.463 ± 0.013 mm)
Clearance between bearing and bearing surface (journal) ... .0025 to .0045 in.(0.064 to 0.114 mm)
Maximum permissible clearance between worn housing and bearing surface (journal) ... .010 in.(0.25 mm)
(6) Bore in roller bearing ... .5034 ± .0003 in.(12.786 ± 0.008 mm)

The intake shaft and the exhaust shaft for the rocker arms are not the same.
A machined flat positions each shaft so the oil holes are in the correct position.
The dash mark on top of the camshaft housing with the word "TIME" should be in alignment with the dash mark on the camshaft gear when the crankshaft is in the top center (TC) compression position of No. 1 cylinder.
*In some housings longer studs are to extend 1.63 in. (41.4 mm).
