Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Put identification on cable assemblies for installation purposes. Remove cable assemblies for ground terminal (1) and (2). Remove cable assembly for switch terminal (3) and cable assembly for battery terminal (4).

34 kg (75 lb) . Remove bolts (6) and electric starting motor (5).

34 kg (75 lb) . Install bolts (6).Show/hide table
Illustration 4 g00565140 - Install cable assemblies for ground terminal (1) and (2), cable assembly for switch terminal (3), and cable assembly for battery terminal (4) on the electric starting motor. Tighten the nuts to the following torques:
- Tighten cable assemblies for ground terminal (1) and (2) to a torque of
31 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft) . - Tighten cable assembly for switch terminal (3) to a torque of
2.25 ± 0.25 N·m (20 ± 2 lb in) . - Tighten cable assembly for battery terminal (4) to a torque of
31 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft) .
- Tighten cable assemblies for ground terminal (1) and (2) to a torque of
