Product Support Program For Replacing Seals To Eliminate Oil Leakage From Hydraulic Cylinders On Certain 320B, 322B And 325B Excavators Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS5541" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The seals need to be replaced to eliminate oil leakage from hydraulic cylinders on certain 320B, 322B and 325B EXCAVATORS. Oil leakage from hydraulic cylinders may occur due to excessive wear of the high temperature rod seals. New high temperature rod seals are available that provide longer service life.

Action Required

Replace the seals of all hydraulic cylinders if oil leakage is found on one of four cylinders (2 - boom, 1 - stick or 1 -bucket). Follow the procedures in the "Disassembly And Assembly" manuals for cylinder removal, rebuild and installation.
