Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Release the system pressure.

1. Raise the hood.

2. Remove housing (2) and the O-ring seal. Remove Transmission and Torque Converter Oil Filter (1) and the O-ring seal.

3. To remove the transmission and torque converter oil filter base, complete the following steps.

4. Disconnect hose assemblies (3). Disconnect harness assembly (4).

5. Remove four bolts (6) and transmission and torque converter oil filter base (5).

6. Remove harness assembly (7).

Installation Procedure

1. Install Transmission and Torque Converter Oil Filter (1) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. If transmission and torque converter oil filter base (5) was removed. Tighten harness assembly (7) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (133 ± 27 lb in).

   2. Tighten housing (2) to a torque of 50 N·m (37 lb ft) to 100 N·m (74 lb ft) using a 1-1/2 inch socket or box end wrench.

      Note: Do not use open end or adjustable wrench. Do not use air wrench.
