Usage:
1. Remove the fuel priming pump from the fuel filter base. See the topic "Remove Fuel Priming Pump".
2. Use Tool (A) to remove fuel filter assemblies (5) from the fuel filter base.
3. Disconnect tube assemblies (1), (2) and (3) from the fuel filter base. Cap or plug immediately.
4. Remove the bolts that hold support assembly (4) to the cylinder head. Remove the support assembly and the fuel filter base from the engine.
5. Remove the bolts that hold support assembly (4) to the fuel filter base and remove the support assembly.
NOTE: For installation of the fuel filter base, reverse the removal steps.
Disassemble & Assemble Fuel Filter Base
Start By:
a. remove fuel filter base
Typical Example
1. Remove the bolts that hold adapter (1) to base assemblies (2). Remove the adapter.
2. Remove the bolts that hold base assemblies (2) together and separate the base assemblies.
3. Remove two O-ring seals (3) from each of the base assemblies.
4. If necessary, remove studs (4) from the base assemblies.
NOTE: The following steps are for the assembly of the fuel filter base.
5. If studs (4) were removed from the fuel filter base assemblies, put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the tapered ends of studs (4). Install studs (4) into the fuel filter base assembly and tighten them to a torque of 68 ± 7 N·m (50 ± 5 lb ft).
6. Put two O-ring seals (3) in position in each fuel filter base assembly.
7. Put fuel filter base assemblies (2) together as shown and install the bolts that hold them.
8. Put adapter (1) in position on the base assembly and install the bolts that hold it.
