3176 DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE DISASSEMBLY & ASSEMBLY Caterpillar

1. Remove six bolts (2). Remove personality module from electronic control module (ECM), retaining O-ring seal with the personality module.

2. Disconnect (EMC) plug from personality module (1). Remove personality module.

NOTE: For installation of the personality module (PM), reverse the removal steps.

NOTE: Use care when installing plug so that it fits into the jack with no side stress. Be sure the O-ring seal is properly installed.
