Right Console
(1) Propulsion lever

Propulsion lever (1) is located on the console to the right of the operator seat. This lever controls the hydrostatic drive system. A cable connects the propulsion lever to the pump controls.

The machine moves forward when propulsion lever (1) is moved out of the center NEUTRAL position and toward the front of the machine. The machine moves backward when the lever is moved out of the center and toward the rear of the machine. The farther the operator moves the propulsion lever toward the front of the machine or moves the propulsion lever toward the back of the machine, the faster the travel of the machine.

The machine stops when the propulsion lever is returned to the NEUTRAL position. This is the primary braking method.

(2) Backup alarm switch

Backup alarm switch (2) is located in the base of propulsion lever (1). When the propulsion lever is in the REVERSE position, the back up alarm switch is closed. The back up alarm switch is open when the propulsion lever is in the NEUTRAL position. This switch is also open when the propulsion lever is in the FORWARD position. The back up alarm switch receives power from the "REV_ALARM" fuse. The back up alarm switch controls the ground path for the backup alarm. When the switch is closed, the ground path is complete, and the backup alarm sounds.

(3) Parking brake indicator
(4) Parking brake switch

Parking brake switch (4) is located on the right console. This switch is a push button switch with two positions. The parking brake switch is in the ON position when the switch is pushed in. The switch is in the OFF position when the switch is pulled out. The parking brake switch contains parking brake indicator (3). The indicator is illuminated when the parking brake is engaged. This is true regardless of the position of the parking brake switch.

Parking brake switch (4) works in conjunction with the brake relays and neutral start relay "P4" in order to control the solenoid for the axle interlock and the solenoid for the drum interlock. These devices will make sure that the machine will not propel when the brake is engaged and propulsion lever (1) is out of the NEUTRAL position.

Contact "1" and contact "3" of parking brake switch (4) receive power from the "PARK BRAKE" fuse. When the switch is in the OFF position, power transfers from contact "2" of the switch to contact "30" of parking brake relay "P1". When the switch is in the ON position, power transfers to the indicator in the switch and to contact "86" of parking brake relay "P1" and to contact "86" of parking brake relay "P2".

(5) Shift switch

Shift switch (5) is located on the left side of the instrument panel. The shift switch is electrically connected to the shift solenoid.

Shift switch (5) has two positions. The bottom position of the switch is the LOW SPEED position. The top position of the switch is the HIGH SPEED position.

When shift switch (5) is moved to the HIGH SPEED position, the shift solenoid is energized. Contact "2" of the shift switch receives power from the "PARK BRAKE" fuse. When the switch is in the HIGH SPEED position, power transfers from contact "3" of the switch to contact of "1" the shift solenoid.

Indicator Cluster
(6) Hydraulic oil pressure indicator
(7) Hydraulic oil temperature indicator

Hydraulic oil pressure indicator (6) and hydraulic oil temperature indicator (7) are located on the indicator cluster on the instrument console.

Hydraulic oil pressure indicator (6) receives a signal from pin "J1-18" of the engine ECM. The engine ECM monitors the hydraulic oil pressure switch. The engine ECM sends a low pressure signal to the hydraulic oil pressure indicator when the hydraulic oil pressure is less than 1100 kPa (160 psi). When this indicator is illuminated, the engine ECM logs a fault, and the alarm horn sounds.

Hydraulic oil temperature indicator (7) receives a signal from pin "J1-19" of the engine ECM. The engine ECM monitors the hydraulic oil temperature switch. The engine ECM sends a high temperature signal to the hydraulic oil temperature indicator when hydraulic oil temperature is greater than 85 °C (185 °F). When this indicator is illuminated, the engine ECM logs a fault, and the alarm horn sounds.
