Clearance between pinion and housing (pinion clearance ... 8.3 to 9.9 mm (.33 to .39 in)
Rotation as seen from drive end ... Clockwise
No load conditions:

(1) Intermediate housing.
(2) Bracket.
(3) Torque for small solenoid terminal nuts ... 2.25 ± 0.25 N·m (20 ± 2 lb in)
(4) Torque for large terminal nuts ... 30 ± 3 N·m (22 ± 2 lb ft)
(5) Bolt. Tighten to ... 7 to 10 N·m (5 to 7 lb ft)
The pinion clearance is correct when the solenoid position (dimension X) is 62.50 + 0.20 - 0.50 mm (2.46 + .008 - .020 in) from intermediate housing (1). The following procedure is used to adjust the solenoid position:
a. Loosen bolts (5) and move the solenoid until distance (X) is correct. Bracket (2) has elongated holes.
b. Tighten bolts (5) after the adjustment is correct to a torque of 7 to 10 N·m (5 to 7 lb ft).
