Adjusting the Travel Speed
Illustration 1 | g01111798 |
Travel motor (1) Minimum displacement screw. (2) Maximum displacement screw. |
From the factory, an M12X50 setscrew is used for the maximum displacement screw. The M12X50 setscrew acts as a plug. The setscrew is not long enough to adjust the displacement. You will need a M12X70 setscrew (9X-8482 Setscrew ) in order to adjust the maximum displacement. An M12X80 setscrew is used for the minimum displacement screw. This screw will adjust the minimum displacement.
Refer to Table 1 for a list of the part numbers and the lengths of the available displacement screws.
Setscrew     | Length     |
123-4954     | 50 mm (1.97 inch)     |
9X-8482     | 70 mm (2.76 inch)     |
9X-8483     | 80 mm (3.15 inch)     |
High Speed - Minimum displacement screw (1) must be turned clockwise in order to reduce the speed of the travel motor for the high speed position. Minimum displacement screw (1) must be turned counterclockwise in order to increase the speed of the travel motor in the high speed position.
Note: Do NOT increase the speed of the travel motor in the high speed position beyond the factory setting. This will increase the speed of the motor and the gear drive beyond the allowable factory specification.
Low Speed - Maximum displacement screw (2) must be turned counterclockwise in order to reduce the speed of the travel motor for the low speed position. Maximum displacement screw (2) must be turned clockwise in order to increase the speed of the travel motor in the low speed position.
Note: You cannot reduce the speed of the travel motor in the low speed position beyond the factory setting. The factory setting is at the maximum displacement for the motor.
Note: As the travel speed in the low speed position is increased, the maximum drawbar pull decreases proportionally.
