NOTE: | This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44587" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing radiator system was not properly flushed and cleaned out to remove debris on certain C13 Industrial Engines. If the existing radiator has debris it may enter the cooling system and contaminate the engine. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the procedure below to flush out the radiator to capture and remove debris from entering the engine's cooling system. 1. Remove thermostats from the engine to perform the flushing procedure. 2. Install a filter between the thermostat housing and radiator inlet. See Image 1. 3. Secure the thermostat housing, hose to the thermostat, and the radiator inlet. 4. Start the engine. 5. Go to low idle (800 rpm-) - Stay for 40 seconds. 6. Go to 2200 rpm ? Stay for 40 seconds. 7. Cycle the engine between low idle and 2200 rpm for 2 minutes. 8. Go to 2200 rpm ? Stay for 10 minutes. 9. Shut down engine. 10. Remove the filter and check for particles collected. Note: Coolant maybe hot. 11. Clean the filter and repeat steps 1-10 until filter is clean. 12. Flushing complete. Note: Remove Filter When Flushing Is Complete! 13. Install the thermostats and housing with new 6V9769 and 3411429 Seals. 14. Secure hoses with out the filter to the thermostat and the radiator inlet. |
