Usage:
Start By:
a. evacuate refrigerant from air conditioning system
b. remove seat
Fluid Spillage Containment
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
1. Remove panel (1).
2. Remove cover (2).
3. Disconnect wiring harness (3) and two blower motor wire connections (4).
4. Remove cotter key and pin (7) from heater control valve.
5. Remove cable clamp (6).
6. Remove three bolts (5) and cover assembly (8).
7. Remove two bolts (9) and bracket (10). Repeat for right side of the machine.
8. Remove four bolts (11).
9. Disconnect air conditioning lines (12) and (13).
10. Remove housing assembly (14).
11. Remove six bolts and cover (15).
12. Close the water valves at the engine. Loosen hose clamps (16) and (17).
13. Remove blower and air conditioning evaporator core assembly.
14. Remove air conditioning lines (12 and (13).
15. Remove two bolts (18) and air conditioning evaporator coil (19).
NOTE: Install in reverse order.
End By:
a. check the air conditioning system, evacuate and refill with refrigerant.
