Actuator And Exhaust Recirculation Valve

Usage:

Remove Actuator And Exhaust Recirculation Valve

start by:

a) remove exhaust recirculation tube

1. Disconnect wiring (1) at connector (2). Pull the wiring back down to the actuator and exhaust recirculation valve.

2. Disconnect lines (3) and (6). Remove nuts (4) that hold actuator and exhaust recirculation valve (5) to the exhaust manifold. Remove actuator and exhaust recirculation valve (5).

NOTE: If rear nut (that holds actuator to exhaust manifold) cannot be removed. loosen manifold bolts enough to pull exhaust manifold out from the engine block and then remove the rear nut.

3. Inspect gasket on exhaust manifold to exhaust recirculation valve connection and make a replacement if necessary.

Install Actuator And Exhaust Recirculation Valve

1. Install a new gasket on valve if necessary. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the valve studs. Put the actuator and exhaust recirculation valve (3) in position on the exhaust manifold and install three nuts (2) that hold it.

NOTE: If exhaust manifold bolts had to be loosened, push the exhaust manifold back on the engine block and then tighten the bolts.

2. Connect lines (1) and (4).

3. Pull wiring (5) up from the actuator and exhaust recirculation valve and then correct it at the connector.

end by:

a) install exhaust recirculation tube

NOTE: See step 12 in ASSEMBLE ACTUATOR for adjustment to linkage from actuator to exhaust recirculation valve.
