Timing Gear Housing

Usage:

Remove Timing Gear Housing

start by:

a) remove timing gears

b) remove fuel injection pump housing, governor and governor drive as a unit

c) remove water pump

1. Disconnect oil pressure line (1).

2. Remove two bolts (4) from oil line.

3. Remove three nuts (5) from shaft.

4. Remove thrust plate (3) and washer for camshaft.

5. Remove the eight bolts that hold timing gear housing (6) to cylinder block.

6. Install two 1/2"-13NC forged eyebolts in holes (2). Fasten a hoist to eyebolts and remove timing gear housing. Weight of timing gear housing is 160 lb. (73 kg).

Install Timing Gear Housing

1. Put timing gear housing (5) in place on engine. Install bolts that hold housing to cylinder block. Cut off ends of housing gasket even with lower surface of cylinder block.

2. Install thrust plate and washer for camshaft.

3. Install bolts in oil line (3).

4. Install the three nuts that hold shaft (4) to housing.

5. Connect oil pressure line (1) to fitting (2).

end by:

a) install fuel injection pump housing, governor and governor drive as a unit

b) install water pump

c) install timing gears
