Fan Drive

Usage:

Remove Fan Drive

1. Remove guards from radiator.

2. Remove bolts (1) from fan and remove fan from drive pulley.

3. Loosen fan belt adjustment nut (2) and nuts (3). Remove fan belts.

4. Remove bolts (4) that hold drive to engine and remove fan drive.

Install Fan Drive

1. Put the fan drive in position on the engine.

2. Install the bolts that hold fan drive.

3. Install fan belts.

4. Put the fan in position on the engine.

5. Install the bolts that hold fan.

6. Install radiator guards.

NOTE: For correct belt tension, See V-Belt Tension Chart in SPECIFICATIONS.

Disassemble Fan Drive

start by:

a) remove fan drive

1. Remove the bolts (1), lock, and retainer (2).

2. Install tooling (A) and remove pulley from shaft.

3. Remove bearing (3) and spacer (4) from pulley.

4. Turn the pulley over and remove seal and other bearing.

Assemble Fan Drive

1. Put a multipurpose type grease on pulley bearings.

2. Install bearing in pulley.

3. Put grease on sealing lip of seal and install seal with tooling (A).

NOTE: Fill space between bearings in pulley with grease at least one-third full at assembly.

4. Put the pulley (1) in position on shaft.

5. Install spacer (3) and bearing (2) in pulley.

6. Install retainer (5), lock and bolts (4).
