Setting of Tapered Roller Bearings

Tighten shaft nut with 4,000 Nm (2,950 ft.lb.) torque

Rotate the ring gear in one direction only during setting of the tapered roller bearings.

Secure shaft nut #19 with Loctite 638

Planet Gears

Use only planet gears with a max. 0.02 mm span measurement variation per set.

Axial Clearance

Check during drive assembly that there is a clearance of 1-2 mm between sun gear #88 and thrust washer #105.

Multiple Disk Brake (only if installed)

Lubricate springs, piston seals, back-up rings as well as their contact areas lightly with gear oil. Assemble back-up rings prior to piston seals.
