Usage:
3.1 Introduction
This chapter describes how the handling and storing of the products of L+S are safely prepared and carried through.
3.2 Notes on Handling and Storing
When handling the equipment make sure the carrying capacity of the crane is adequate.
- * Use exclusively approved handling equipment.
- * Carefully attach the gearbox to the crane hook, using the lifting points provided.
When lifting the gearboxes make sure that the handling elements do not cause damage to attachment parts.
- * Store the gearboxes in dry and moderately heated rooms only.
- * Store the gearboxes only in their intended mounting position.
- * Make sure that the set down gearboxes rest immovably.
L+S will dispose of any packing material supplied with the gearboxes when this is returned to the Factory free of charge.
3.3 Preservation
Gearboxes supplied by L+S are not filled with oil. The interior of the gearboxes has been protected with Aral Degol LS 30 / 50 or with Shell S. 7294 SAE 30 / 50.
The surfaces of external flanges, ends of shafts and flange attachment faces are preserved with TECTYL 502 C.
In the event the gearboxes are stored for a period exceeding twelve months, they must receive a special preservation treatment. For details in this respect please contact our service department.
Pleas check all equipment supplies for completeness immediately upon receipt. Ant deviations and transit damage must be reported to L+S right away. A written confirmation of such a report is also required.
