Emissions Engines Need To Be Installed In Certain 416C Backhoe Loaders Shipped To Puerto Rico Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3299" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3299" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Emissions engines need to be installed in certain 416C Backhoe Loaders shipped to Puerto Rico with non-emissions engines installed. This program pays for the removal and installation of emission engines into these units. This program is for the dealer Rimco Inc. only.

NOTE: Reuse the exhaust stack and the clamping hardware when replacing the muffler.

Action Required

Remove the non-emission engine from the backhoe loader in question and install an emission engine. Because these engines are turbocharged, the muffler, supporting brackets and the engine wiring harness, must also be changed.
