Product Support Program For Replacing The Hydraulic Tanks On Certain 994 Wheel Loaders Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer.When reporting the repair, use "PS8047" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number.If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

NOTE: This Revised Service Letter replaces the November 15, 1993 Service Letter.The TERMINATION DATE was extended.

The bottom cover of the hydraulic tanks may leak due to flexing of the tank and will need to be replaced on certain Wheel Loaders.

Rework Procedure

1. Drain and remove the hydraulic tank from the machine.

2. Install the 1022779 Tank Group. This tank will mount the same as the 9T9005 Tank and will use the same hardware. See Illustration 1 and Table 1 for the mounting of the tank.

3. After the tank is mounted, install the valve breaker, filler and dipstick tube. See Illustration 2 and Table 2.
