Product Support Program For Repairing The Front Track Roller Frame On Certain D8N And D9N Tractors Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0579" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The weld joint between the nut and tube of the front track roller frame may fail on certain D8N and D9N Tractors.

1 - 6Y1699 Tube Assembly (Nut Section - D8N)

1 - 9W9666 Tube Assembly (Nut Section - D9N)

Action Required

Refer to Special Instruction SEHS8273 for the procedure to disassemble the failed track roller frame. Once removed, refer to Special Instruction SEHS9373 for the proper procedures to repair or replace the tube assembly.
