Dial Bore Gauge And Size Setting Fixture Available

Usage:

A new 6V6000 Dial Bore Gauge is now available to measure parts (piston pin bores, etc.) that can not be measured with existing dial bore gauges. The range of this gauge is 30.0 to 50.8 mm with increments (steps) to show 0.002 mm. The depth range is 8.5 to 150 mm.

This dial bore guage can be used to measure piston pin bores for 3300 Series Engines. In the past, there was no tool available from the Caterpillar Parts Department to measure these piston pin bores.

A 6V6030 Size Setting Fixture is also available. This tool can be used to set or check the dial bore gauge in 0.002 mm increments (steps) in the 0 to 50 mm range. The size setting fixture has a magnifying glass to make it easy to read.

Special Instruction Form SMHS8037 is sent with the 6V6000 Dial Bore Gauge and Special Instruction Form SMHS8036 is sent with the 6V6030 Size Setting Fixture.
