New Brass Bonnet, Bonnet Assembly Used In Heat Exchanger

Usage:

3208 Marine Engines (75V)

Description of Change: A new bonnet and bonnet assembly are used in the heat exchanger group for 3208 Marine Engines (75V). The components are made of brass for better resistance to corosion.

Formerly, the bonnet and bonnet assembly were made of cast iron. In time, the sea water caused corrosion of these components.

Adaptable As: The 8N9787 Bonnet Assembly and the 8N9788 Bonnet are direct replacements for the 6N3177 Bonnet Assembly and the 6N3179 Bonnet respectively. The new parts are in effect on 3208 Marine Engines with Serial Number 75V6917. The brass bonnet and bonnet assembly have been used in the turbocharged 3208 Engines (1Z) since first production.

Location of the 8N9787 Bonnet and the 8N9788 Bonnet Assembly in the heat exchanger group.
