Change Made To Fuel Nozzle Assembly; New Bleed Screw Used

Usage:

3306 (D.I.) Industrial Engines Equipped with 8N7001 Fuel Nozzles

Description of Change: A change has been made to the 8N7001 Fuel Nozzle Assembly used on the above engines. The new nozzle assembly has a larger flat area for the bleed screw to seal against. Also, a new bleed screw and washer are part of the new nozzle assembly. The new screw has a slotted head. The new screw must be tightened to a torque of 1.8 ± 0.2 N·m (16 ± 2 lb in). The head of the new screw and outside diameter of the new washer are larger to provide a better seal against fuel leakage. The new screw and washer are available for parts service.

The former screw and washer were smaller in diameter and were not available for parts service. Formerly, it was necessary to make a replacement of the complete fuel nozzle if the screw and/or washer were damaged.

Adaptable As: The new 8N7001 Fuel Nozzle Assembly (with the new screw and washer) is a direct replacement for former 8N7001 Fuel Nozzle Assembly. The part number did not change. The new 1W8999 Screw and 1W8616 Washer are not adaptable to earlier 8N7001 Fuel Nozzle Assemblies.
