Improved Plunger And New Spring Used In Mechanical Shutoff Group

Usage:

3304 And 3306 Industrial Engines

Description of Change: An improved plunger and a new spring are used in the mechanical shutoff groups on 3304 and 3306 Industrial Engines. A change was made to the design of the plunger. This change will keep the diaphragm out from behind the head of the plunger. Formerly, it was possible for the diaphragm to get behind the head of the plunger and prevent engine shut-off.

The new spring is made of a different steel that has more resistance to the stresses in this application. The former spring has, at times, broken.

Adaptable As: The improved 3N2817 Plunger and the new 1W9509 Spring are direct replacements for the former 3N2817 Plunger and the former 4B258 Spring. The part number of the plunger did not change.
