Improved Valve Cover Seal Used
Usage:
All D379, D398 And D399 Engines
Description of Change: An improved valve cover seal is used in the cylinder head and valve mechanism groups on the above engines. The improved seal is 13.50 mm (.531") high and will make a better seal between the valve cover and the cylinder head. The earlier seal is 12.70 mm (.500") high. The improved seal also has a white stripe (mark) on it for identification purposes.
There have been some leakage problems with the earlier seal.
Adaptable To: The part number of the 2N3597 Seal did not change. The improved 2N3597 Seal is in effect with the Serial Numbers shown in the chart. The improved 2N3597 Seal is adaptable to all the above engines.
