Usage:

3208 Marine Engines Equipped With Marine Transmission Oil Cooler Groups

SUPPLEMENT: 03/07/84

ENGINE NEWS, MARCH 17, 1982, PAGE 7.

In the article "Brass Plug Used To Prevent Corrosion," the wrong serial numbers are given. Change the 1Z1882 Serial Number to 1Z2995. Change the 75V8044 Serial Number to 75V8362.

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Description of Change: A brass plug is now used in the marine transmission oil cooler groups on 3208 Marine Engines. The new plug will have more resistance to corrosion than the former plug.

The former plug was zinc plated. This plug has at times been damaged by corrosion when it was in contact with sea water.

Adaptable As: The new 127950 Plug (brass) is a direct replacement for the former 5M6214 Plug (zinc plated) in this application. The new plug (brass) is in effect with 3208 Marine Engine Serial Numbers 1Z2995 and 75V8362. It is our recommendation to make a replacement of the former plug at the next service interval.
