New Adapters And O-Ring Seals Used In Aftercooler Group

Usage:

3408 And 3412 Industrial And Marine Engines Equipped With An Aftercooler

Description of Change: A change has been made to the aftercooler groups used on the above engines. New adapters are used at the water inlet and outlet ports of the aftercooler. Also, new O-ring seals which are smaller in diameter are used with the new adapters.

During installation of the elbows, which fit over the former adapters, it was possible to damage the O-ring seal used between the elbows and adapters.

Adaptable To: The new 1W5947 Adapter is a direct replacement for the 4N5787 Adapter and is in effect with engine Serial Numbers shown in the chart. Two adapters are used with each aftercooler group. For replacement of the former 4N5787 Adapter, order the new adapter and one 6F8146 Seal.

Location of 1W5947 Adapter and 6F8146 Seal in aftercooler group.
