Troubleshooting Water In Shut-Off Solenoid Housing

Usage:

All 3208 Industrial And Marine Engines Equipped With Fuel Shut-Off Solenoid

There have been reports of water in the fuel shut-off solenoid housing on the above engines. The water leaks through the connection between the fuel shut-off solenoid and its mounting plate. Some fuel shut-off solenoids have been found to be held in the off position by corrosion caused by this water. If the solenoid is held in the off position the engine will not start.

The gasket used between the fuel shut-off solenoid and its mounting plate does not make a good seal on some engines. 7M7260 Liquid Gasket can be used, in addition to existing gasket, to make sure a water tight seal is made between the solenoid and the mounting plate. Make sure the liquid gasket is put around the bolt hole areas.

Liquid gasket has been used together with the normal gasket with the serial numbers shown in the chart.
