Locks No Longer Used On Flywheel Bolts; New Torque Specifications For Flywheel Bolts

D353 Industrial And Marine Engines
The 1M6806 Locks are no longer used on flywheel bolts in the D353 Industrial and Marine Engines. With these locks, it was possible for the original bolt torque value to decrease, and permit loose bolts.
The flywheel bolts are now installed without the locks and are tightened to a torque of 377 ± 25 N·m (280 ± 20 lb ft). When service work is done on a flywheel, remove the locks and tighten the bolts to the new torque.
