Improve Use Of Engine Service Manual Microfiche

Usage:

The microfiche Service Manual Library is the most current source of information for maintenance, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and disassembly and assembly work done in the service shop. The Service Manual Library on microfiche gives information for all Caterpillar products. Revisions are mailed automatically every two months.

In some dealerships the location of the engine repair area is not near the machine repair area of the service shop. This makes access to the microfiche reference library difficult for engine service personnel.

One way to make the microfiche easier for engine personnel to use is to remove the engine section from the complete Service Manual Library and move it to the engine specialization or truck engine repair area of the service shop.

The engine section has approximately 200 microfiche. These fiche are kept at the rear of the Service Manual Library tray. Each engine Service Manual Microfiche has a white header (band across the top of the microfiche) for easy identification. The engine microfiche will fit in one 203 mm (8") Magne-Dex File Tray For Fiche, Part Number SBFY2401, with space for expansion.

The revisions are sent in the same sequence, so they, too, can be easily removed from the main library and put with the engine library.

Single microfiche can be ordered separately. Instructions for these orders are given in the Master List that is sent with the microfilm Service Manual Library. Important: revisions are not sent for orders of single microfiche.

Use the engine section of the complete Service Manual Library on microfiche and the automatic revisions to keep the information current.

White headers give easy identification of the engine section of the Service Manual Microfiche Library.
