New Camshaft Has Improved Profile (Shape) Of Exhaust Cam To Extend Service Life

Description of Change: A new camshaft is used in the D353 Engines. The new camshaft has a different profile (shape) of the exhaust cam, which lowers the contact stress on the cam. This will lower the rate of wear and extend the service life of the camshaft. The change in design has no effect on engine performance.
Adaptable As: The new 1N4085 Camshaft Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 4H9983 Camshaft Assembly. Serial numbers when the new camshaft went into effect are not yet available.
