An earlier article, "Turbocharger Bearings Are Now Available In More Different Sizes For Better Turbocharger Reconditioning" in the August 22, 1979 Engine News gave information about the different sizes of bearings used in turbocharger reconditioning, and the identification marks on the bearings. Since the earlier article was written, some changes have been made to bearing sizes and identification marks used in the factory remanufactured cartridges for AiResearch Turbochargers. Make a reference note on your copy of the original article to see this article for later information.

The bearing sizes now used in AiResearch Turbochargers are shown in the chart that follows. The chart also shows the identification marks used on the identification plate for each size bearing.
