New Breather Groups Used

Usage:

D353 Industrial And Marine Engines (46B8330-Up And, 47B4879-Up)

Description of Change: Starting with Serial Numbers 46B8330 and 47B4879, new breather groups are used in D353 Industrial and Marine Engines.

The new breather groups use different breather assemblies which have a 41.28 mm (1.625") opening. The breather assemblies used in the former breather groups have a 25.4 mm (1") opening. All of the other parts are the same.

Because of the larger opening in the new breather assembly, the pressure in the crankcase is less. This lower pressure decreases possible leakage around the crankshaft seals.

Adaptable As: The new breather assemblies are direct replacements for the former breather assemblies as shown in the chart.
