Some Valve Lifter Assemblies Have A Black Color On The Finished Surface

Some of the 5L5486 and 2H3069 Valve Lifter Assemblies used in the above models have a black color on the finished surface of the lifter. Some dealers and customers were not sure the black surface was acceptable on parts service lifters.
The black color on the finished surface of these lifters is caused by the method used at the factory to make the lifter. It has no effect on the lifter specifications or tolerances, and the lifters are acceptable for installation in the engine.
