Usage:
Some 5P8637 Crankshaft Support Groups (V-Blocks) have been found with the heads of the 7F7836 Machine Screws above the surface of the 5P8636 Pads. The purpose of the plastic pads is to prevent damage to precision machined surfaces, like the bearing surfaces of a crankshaft during an inspection. When the screw heads extend above the surface of the pads, the machined surfaces of the crankshaft can possibly be damaged by contact with the screw heads. For this reason, the heads of the machine screws must be not less than 1 mm (.03") below the surface of the plastic pads.
Check each 5P8637 Crankshaft Support Group to be sure the heads of the 7F7836 Machine Screws (Brass) are 1 mm (.03") or more below the surface of the 5P8636 Pads. If they are not, increase the size of the 82° countersink (chamfer) around the screw holes in the 5P8636 Pads to a diameter of 18.5 mm (.72").
