Usage:
3406, 3408, 3412 Engines
Different fuel injection lines and fuel injection nozzle bodies are used on 3406, 3408 and 3412 Engines equipped with different types of combustion systems: Precombustion chamber (PC) or direct injection (DI), with turbocharger (T) and with or without aftercooler (A). Some of these parts are exactly the same size and shape, and the only difference is internal (inside) where it can not be seen. Since it is important to use the correct parts, external (outside) grooves are used to permit visual identification. The illustration shows the location of the grooves used for identification of these similar parts. The chart shows which parts are used with the different combustion systems for each engine model. This makes possible the correct selection of parts according to the type of engine combustion system. Use of the wrong parts can cause mechanical damage to the engine, and will have an effect on the control of engine emissions.
