Installation Of Stronger Transmission Mounting Parts

Usage:


3208 Truck Engines With Allison AT-540 Transmissions

Description of Change: Starting with 3208 Truck Engines, Serial Number 40S92112, a stronger drive plate is used in the 9N5331 Mounting Group for Allison AT-540 Transmissions.

The new plate is effective in withstanding the accumulation of tolerances in the drive train that can result in cracking. Starting with 3208 Truck Engine, Serial Number 32Y13910, a new mounting adapter is used to assure conformity with existing tolerances in the drive train.

Adaptable To: The new parts, used together, are directly adaptable to all earlier 3208 Truck Engines. If the center hub of the former 9N2484 Plate has broken through the webs, install the new parts. Also, if it becomes necessary to remove the engine or transmission for any other reason, install the new parts. The parts needed depend on the engine serial number.
